“60th Anniversary Sanrio Character Museum” held

Sanrio will hold an exhibition “60th Anniversary Sanrio Character Museum” in the summer from 2020 to 2025, celebrating its 60th anniversary in August this year. First of all, starting with the Tokyo City View Sky Gallery on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, they plan to hold nationwide tours at museums and museums.


How has Sanrio, who has continued to transmit the kawaii culture to the world with the message “Everyone gets well along”, has gone beyond more than 450 characters created by Sanrio to date, focus on nostalgic characters, including characters that have been active for more than 40 years, such as “Hello Kitty”, “My Melody”, “Little Twin Stars” and go on.


The museum project aim to detail on history and development of Sanrio’s kawaii culture from before the character was formed and introduce valuable original drawings, materials, and products. Collaborations with up-and-coming artists in Japan will also be added. The exhibition is full of cuteness and highlights, and Sanrio’s 60-year history raises expectations.


In addition, for this exhibition, it would be like to take a tour of a  museum to another museum that can be held all over the country. Details on the Roppongi Hills Tokyo City View Sky Gallery will be announced around March 2020.
