TAKARA TOMI will launch the Dream Tomica Sanrio Characters Collection (retail price: 700 yen/without tax) on January 18, 2020, which is collaborated with 10 popular Sanrio characters. It will be on sale at toy stores in Japan, department store and mass merchandise store toys, Internet shops, Tomica specialty store “Tomica shop”, official TAKARA TOMY shopping site “TAKARA TOMY Mall”, some Sanrio shops and Sanrio online shops.
This product contains 10 popular Sanrio characters as motifs. Each car has a character face drawn on the front, as well as a unique back design and a character logo printed on it.
The characters that have become the motif are four characters that have collaborated with Tomica in the past (“Hello Kitty”, “Gudetama”, “Cinamoroll”, “My Melody”), and six characters that will be Tomica’s first appearance (“Pochakko”, “Pompom”) Pudding, Kuromi, Tuxedo Sam, Kekerokecrop, and Hangyo-dong).
Using these products to celebrate its 51st anniversary in 2020, Tomica is designed with the desire to reach a wide range of customers across ages and genders, including those who have never had contact with the brand.
Aiming to be familiar with people of a wide range of generations, the lineup includes Sanrio Characters, which were born in a wide range of generations from the 1970s to the 2010s, and have long been loved by each generation. It will be released from the “Dream Tomica” series.
